Waiver Weapons - Week Fourteen:
Not to dunk on my co-writers, but my 11% rostered waiver weapon Chase Brown put up 19.5 PPR points and it might be my best waiver weapon of the season. He’s still a good bet to get another good game this week, but the Vikings defense has been better against running backs than the Colts. Now it’s playoff time, meaning the stakes for these waiver weapons are high and so are our spirits.
Camaron’s Pick: Daniel Bellinger, TE, NYG (3% rostered on Sleeper) - It’s playoff time so these waiver weapons are coming from some reallyyyy deep bags. And personally, I really like Bellinger. Bellinger was a decent breakout candidate this year until Waller showed up, and with Waller out he hasn’t been able to do much so far. That being said it’s not entirely his fault. Devito is starting to earn the trust of his team, and for the first time since week 8, the Giants have a top 10 matchup for TEs this week. I recommend Bellinger in deeper leagues against a Saints and all of his playoff matchups.
Chris’ Pick: Zamir White, RB, LV (10% rostered on Sleeper) - this pick is conditional on Jacobs not starting, but since the Raiders play on Thursday night, a) it’s likelier that he won’t play given the short turnaround, and b) you can drop White if he does + grab someone else (bonus waiver weapon: pivot to Ty Chandler [37% rostered on Sleeper] or Chase Brown [29% rostered on Sleeper] if you’re desperate for RB depth). The Chargers defense is giving up the 11th most fantasy points to RBs, and while Ameer Abdullah is likely to work in on passing downs, White is expected to handle the bulk of the carries should Jacobs not be able to go.
Will’s Pick: Jordan Mason, RB, SF (4% rostered on Sleeper) - I’m going with an option for playoff teams that don’t have an imeediate need for a flex or have a bye. Mason is a handcuff that has championship winning potential if something were to happen to CMC.
